Public Good charges organizations no fees for fundraising on our site. Depending on how you choose to receive your donations, fees will be either 2.75% + $0.30 or 10.75% + $0.30.
You can set your payment schedule, and have your donations delivered directly into your organization’s bank account. To get started, we will need some information on where to send the donations. Watch this video for a walkthrough of entering your banking information.
We use Braintree, a division of PayPal, Inc. for payment processing. They charge 2.75% + $0.30 on each transaction to cover credit card processing fees. Donors have the option to cover these fees, and about 85% of the time, they do, so you fundraise for free. When your donors choose to pick up the fees, we do add an additional 2% Public Good fee. This helps us keep the lights on so we can continue to help connect nonprofits and donors. Donors are shown the total donation clearly at the time of donation so they can see what their total will be. If the donor chooses not to pick up fees, we do not collect any Public Good fee, so that a Public Good fee is not passed on to you.
When donors donate to a cause your organization belongs to, that donation will be split between all organizations working on that cause. Those donations will be processed through DonateWell, regardless of whether or not you have entered banking information.

If you do not enter banking information, donations will be processed by DonateWell, our donor advised fund partner. DonateWell makes disbursements during the third week of each month. There is a $50 minimum to receive a mailed check. As an alternative, you can provide DonateWell with your ACH information to receive your donations without a minimum for disbursement.
Using DonateWell, 10.75% + $0.30 will be taken out of each donation to cover the credit card and associated fees.
